FAQs
What services do you offer?
1
Mackenzie offers individual and family therapy both in-person and virtually within Virginia. Custom-tailored trainings and workshops are also offered to community groups.
How do I get started?
2
Text, email, or call Mackenzie to set up an initial 15 minute call or to schedule an intake appointment.
What makes you different?

I don’t treat symptoms or diagnoses. The progress found from this approach to therapy is temporary and can lead to feelings of frustration and self-blame. Instead, I work to help you uncover the root of continued struggles—much like a weed will keep growing back unless you discover what conditions made it able to grow and dig out its root. In this work I meet you where you’re at and value the work that occurs within the therapeutic relationship so that you feel safe, comfortable, and supported.
Do you take insurance?

I am currently in-network with the following insurance plans:
Anthem BCBS
Carefirst BCBS
BCBS FEP
Aetna
I utilize a third-party billing platform, Headway, to facilitate this process. It is highly recommended you verify your insurance coverage for mental health services (CPT codes 90791 for intake and 90837 for regular sessions) through your insurance plan directly. Be sure to also verify your access to telehealth services if desired.
For those seeking to see me out-of-network, I do offer documentation (superbills) for you to provide to your insurance company if your plan offers out-of-network reimbursement. If your plan does offer out-of-network reimbursement, your insurance company will reimburse a portion of the payments you make directly to me. Most of my clients with out-of-network benefits pay close to their regular co-pay after reimbursement.
